Santorum grilled on sex abuse in Catholic church

Following a post on Rick Santorum's campaign website that said the Obama administration "seems to favor pornographers over children and families," the former Pennsylvania senator, a Roman Catholic, was pushed into the awkward position of defending the Catholic church, which has had its own sex abuse problems.

It came in an interview Sunday with Chicago-based radio host Bruce DuMont:

The two talked over each other as DuMont said he was testing Santorum’s “consistency.” DuMont asked, “What grade would you give the Catholic Church on aggressively pursuing child abuse within the church?”

“My job is not to grade the Catholic Church — it to talk about what I’d do as president of the United States … I am concerned about protecting children.”

The interview lasted five minutes.
