Wild Dash-Cam Video Released of Police Chasing Stolen School Bus

Early in the morning on March 9th, a 27-yr-old man stole a school bus just outside of Albuquerque, NM. A high-speed police chase on I-40 during the town's morning rush hour followed. We brought you the original story back then.

Cops deployed spike strips to shred the vehicle's tires, but that only slowed down the bus - it didn't stop it. Several attempts by a police cruiser to use the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver also failed. Only when a bigger vehicle was employed, was the bus immobilized.

However, once the bus crashed into the divider, the suspect continued to rev the engine as police surrounded the the vehicle with guns drawn. Cops used bean bags and bullets to finally end the incident. The suspect was hit twice by gunfire and his wounds were not life-threatening.

Recently-released police dash-camera videos of a wild police chase show the drama of the situation. KOB-TV reports:
