A behind-the-scenes clip of an interview between Mitt Romney and Fox News' Sean Hannity was leaked yesterday. Admittedly, "leaked" is probably the wrong word, since it implies something at least mildly cool or revealing happens in the video.
But for the people who put in their gay-voice hearing aid (have yours ready?) for it, it sounds as though when Romney is offered a change of tie by a producer he "put on his best gay-guy impression," as BuzzFeed put it. Or, it's at least "his impersonation of an effeminate man," as a voice coach told Gawker.
"Oh, I'll take the pink one," Romney jokes, obviously in a queer dialect.
Actually, when I take out my own gay-voice hearing aid, it sounds like Romney has put on his trivial "You know very well I don't give a damn about tie colors" voice. But if I listen while imagining it's cold out, I hear an Eskimo accent. Then again, if I imagine Romney is actually talking to my mother instead of Hannity, it sounds a little Hispanic.
