Two Pro Hockey Coaches Nearly Came to Blows During Last Night's Playoff Game

"sucker punched"

The New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils do not like each other. They've regularly started games this season by immediately fighting, and the bad blood is almost always boiling. In the third period of Tuesday's game four of the Eastern Conference finals, former Devil and current Ranger Mike Rupp "sucker punched," as ESPN calls it, his former teammate, Devils goalie Martin Brodeur. That led to a scrum, which led to an exchange of words between Devils coach Peter DeBoer and Ragers coach John Tortorella, which led to finger pointing, which led to leaning over the benches and nearly coming face-to-face.
