The FEC ruled in favor of a plan last night that allows individuals to make political donations right from their cell phones.
Under the rule, an aggregation firm will track donations to ensure that no more than $50 a month goes to a candidate from a single cellphone number. Election rules limit anonymous donations to $50 a month.
Donations are also limited to $10 per text, about 50 to 70 percent of which will go to the actual political cause. The rest will be shared by the mobile carrier and the aggregation firm, according to Reuters.
Both Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama support the plan.
