(UPDATED) 'Village' columnist likens gay Republicans to 'Jewish Nazis

Following gay conservative group GOProud's less-than-enthusiastic endorsement of Mitt Romney, Village Voice columnist Michael Musto said any "outrage" against the group is "justified."

In a blog post earlier this week Musto wrote:

I always thought that any gay who backs a candidate that doesn't support equal rights must have some very scary death wish. ...

So, here's to you and your bizarre contradictions, GoProud.

You're like Jewish Nazis!

Black Klan members!

Omg.

UPDATE: GOProud cofounder Jimmy LaSalvia emailed to tell me this post is "not true." He directed me to GOProud's official statement endorsing Romney. "The Board of Directors of GOProud voted to enthusiastically endorse Governor Romney’s candidacy for President,” it says.

As Metro Weeklynotes, however, "Of the seven GOProud board members, only four supported the endorsement."  Furthemore, GOProud's own statement quotes its other founder Christopher Barron as endorsing former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson.
