Shocking Video: Crowd Cheers as Syrian Rebels Push Apparent Regime Forces Off Roof (CONTENT WARNING)

The international community is justifiably torn regarding the situation in Syria.  Though no one supports the regime's attacks on its own people, is supporting the rebel forces really the right move?  Numerous reports indicate that their members are in league with al-Qaeda, and video footage that makes it past the Syrian border seems to indicate they would be no more peaceful than their predecessors.

Most recently, a frightening clip posted to LiveLeak appears to show members of the Syrian opposition pushing the bodies of what are reported to be regime fighters off a roof in the city of al-Bab, as a massive crowd gathers in support.

The L.A. Times adds:

The video shows a crowd gathered in front of the post office as a voice shouts, "The heroes of Al-Bab." At least two bodies are lying in front of the building. The video shows three bodies being thrown from the roof of the building before a crowd surrounds the corpses and gunshots are heard.

Both sides of the conflict in Syria have been accused of human rights violations. The latest video drew quick condemnation from Syrians who argued that the rebels should not emulate the brutality of President Bashar Assad's forces.

Syrians circulated the video via Facebook and Twitter, adding critical comments.

One activist, known on Twitter as @KareemLailah, posted [this]: "FSA throwing security forces from the post building in Bab city in #Aleppo is a big shame & must be widely condemned. #Syria."

Here is the video (strong content warning):

The L.A. Times reiterated there was a strong backlash on social media sites in Syria over the video, and one Syrian media activist explained the situation: "There were snipers on the roof of the post office...Several of them surrendered and left the building. Five remained, killing at least seven fighters."

He continued: "There was a lot of anger... Finally the rebels managed to storm the post office and threw explosive devices and the five snipers were killed. Then the rebels threw the bodies from the roof."

The activist later added that we should "respect the dead even if they were our enemies," and assured that the men who were shot and pushed off a roof were given a proper Muslim burial.
