Fire Marshal Locks Down Entrance to DNC

Just after 8 p.m. ET at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, as the second day of the Democratic National Convention was nearing its climax, the state Fire Marshall blocked off the entrances to the area because the hall reached capacity, stranding dozens of people with tickets and credentials outside the building, TheBlaze's Mike Opelka reports.

The Washington Post reports the arena's maximum capacity is 24,000 people.

Sirius XM radio host David Webb told TheBlaze that DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz "should be fired" for how poorly organized the convention has been thus far.

"We've been here for about an hour trying to get into the venue, finally get to the door and we can't get in," he said. "This has got be one of the worst organized events in my history."
