In 2001, Andy Card was serving as the chief-of-staff for new President George W. Bush. On 9/11, Card captured the nation's attention when he became known as the man who delivered the news of the terrorist attacks to Bush while the president was at a book-reading for young students. And today, Card offered an interesting glimpse into that iconic moment, which was captured on video.
According to Card, in an interview with Fox News, he only delivered the news to the president after the second plane hit. He also offered a little-known tidbit: He made sure to withdraw from the president immediately after delivering the news so as not to invite a follow-up.
