Flight Passengers Use Their Belts to Restrain Drunk Male Model For Three Hours

A seemingly drunk "male model" caused a major disturbance during a flight from Chicago to Orange County, Calif. on Tuesday after he began grabbing and harassing people, including asking women to kiss him. Though he was seen drinking, the man was also reportedly taking prescription drugs.

Arash Durrani, 26, wrestled with other passengers on the plane as they attempted to restrain him. Using their belts, the passengers kept him detained for three hours, the Daily Mail reports.

"Passengers said they had to tackle the man who was behaving aggressively and grabbing women during a flight from Chicago to Orange County's John Wayne Airport on Tuesday night," the report says. The incident occurred about 45 minutes into the flight.

Durrani was taken into custody by law enforcement officers following the incident on United Flight 473. FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said the male model will be charged with interfering with a flight crew, a federal offense.

KTLA describes the chaotic incident:

Passenger Nona Pitts told KTLA that Durrani appeared to have been drinking heavily and wouldn't leave her alone.

"He pulled me back and goes, 'Nona, give me a kiss,' and I said, 'Listen, you're really drunk. Get away from me,'" Pitts, the owner of Salon 5150 in Brea said.

"He was on something. And a lot of alcohol that they probably shouldn't have given him, because as soon as you got on, he was already drunk," she said.

Pitts said that Durrani had prescription drugs in his backpack and was drinking heavily.

That's when he started yelling and walking up and down the aisle, confronting passengers and flight attendants.

Another passenger, David Truong told KTLA that he sat on Durrani for most of the flight.

"He was trying to punch us, kick us...He broke a chair," he said.

Durrani, according to IMDb.com, is an actor, model and founder of GROW Clothing. He is listed as an actor in one film that has yet to be released.

Durrani, who also goes by "Ash," is said to have residences in Virginia and California.
