60 Minutes' lands exclusive no one wants: Schwarzenegger, who shares affair details

CBS's 60 Minutes celebrates is 45th anniversary this weekend and there's no better way to celebrate than to air an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger about his extramarital affair with a Hispanic housekeeper.

The former California governor talks in the interview about the impact the affair had on his wife Maria Shriver. “I think it was the stupidest thing I've done in the whole relationship," he says. "It was terrible. I inflicted tremendous pain on Maria and unbelievable pain on the kids.”

Schwarzenegger is currently making the media rounds to promote his new autobiography Total Recall. It publishes Monday and he says his wife hasn't read it. "She knows that it's about my whole life and that I would not write a book and kind of leave out that part and make people feel like, ‘Well, wait a minute. Are we just getting a book about his success stories and not talk about his failures?'" he says. "I wanted to write a book about me."

The episode airs Sunday at 7 p.m. ET.
