Have You Seen This Waterproof Bible That Can Survive Mud, Water & Harsh Climates?

"Thank you for producing such a Bible that I'm sure will withstand the harsh Afghanistan climate."

U.S. soldiers who are serving abroad -- particularly in unfriendly climates -- have come to know a unique version of the Holy Bible that stands both the test of time and the oft-times harsh elements. The "Waterproof Bible New Testament With Psalms and Proverbs" is a highly recommended tool by Christian ministries who work with servicemen and women -- but it's also one that the general public can use as well.

An official description of the Bible promises that it can be used "wherever life takes you," while pledging that it's safe to read at the beach, pool, while camping and even boating. While these are the more pleasant localities to which one might bring the waterproof holy book, as stated, it is also beneficial for individuals serving abroad.

Some images posted on the company's web site showcase just how extreme conditions can get, with the book still remaining protected and in tact.

Christian Retailing has more bout the Bible that is considered a top resource for military personel at Military Ministry (part of Cru):

Soldiers and chaplains have used the Waterproof Bible since 2006. "Thank you for producing such a Bible that I'm sure will withstand the harsh Afghanistan climate," an Army chaplain wrote to Bardin & Marsee before deploying earlier this year. A soldier said the Waterproof Bible "helps me redeem those little fragments of time throughout the day by reading God's Word."

Bardin & Marsee also recently partnered with the Norwegian Bible Society to produce a military chaplain's waterproof devotional titled På Patrulje Soldatens Andaktsbok and with Bible Society New Zealand to publish a custom NLT (New Living Translation) New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs for the New Zealand Defence Force.

Based in Birmingham, Ala., and started in 2005, Bardin & Marsee Publishing offers the Waterproof Bible in nine languages and five English translations—NIV, NLT, English Standard Version, New King James Version and King James Version.

With technology often comes the ability to innovate and for products to meet people wherever they are. In this instance, the synthetic pages and the durable nature of the Bible provide a tool that can be used in harsh climates, around water and in other scenarios that are less-than-friendly to traditional books.
