It is no secret that Barack Obama is a hit among leftist Hollywood celebrities. In fact, one of them is the "co-chairs" of his campaign. But even though Tinseltown is tickled by Obama, we bet you're still wondering who, exactly is visiting the White House.
Fear not, there's an answer.
The folks over at the Washington Post's Reliable Sources blog did some digging through the recent White House visitor logs to see which celebrities have been popping up at the White House lately. Here's what they found:
Yeeeah, it happened again! We frittered away an entire day looking up celebrity names in the Washington Post’s searchable database of the White House visitor log, now updated through June. Longoria hasn’t hung out there nearly as much as Forest Whitaker, a reliable guest at arts receptions, who has also taken meetings with Valerie Jarrett and other top staffers during the Obama years. Here’s what else we learned:
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick dropped in for what looks like a private tour with their son James while in town in May. And how did we miss George Lucas and Cuba Gooding Jr. visiting in January to screen “Red Tails” in the executive mansion’s private theater? Delonte West truly was on the approved list for the Dallas Mavericks’ visit in January, a trip he skipped because he mistakenly thought an old weapons conviction would bar him. Adrian Grenier, the “Entourage” star and convention gadfly, scored meetings with both White House chef Sam Kass and an aide to the first lady to discuss a healthy eating initiative.
Rosalynn Carter stopped by her old house last fall to meet with a Michelle Obama staffer. And Harrison Ford had a meeting with Jarrett last fall. But while other A-listers who play presidents — Michael Douglas, Jeff Bridges, Martin Sheen, Daniel Day-Lewis and Sam Waterston — have visited D.C. in the past year, none has stopped off at the White House.
Interesting. You can read the rest of the post here.
