Chris Christie Gets Emotional About New Jersey Hurricane Devastation – These Aerial Photos Show Why

"The Jersey Shore of my youth is gone."
After first telling a "Fox and Friends" anchor on Tuesday that he didn't "give a damn" about presidential politics after Hurricane Sandy ravaged the East Coast, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie sent out a series of emotional and sentimental tweets about the destruction seen at the Jersey Shore. It is a side of him that the public has rarely seen.

These aerial photos of the damage at the Jersey Shore published by the New Jersey Governor's Office show why Christie is so shaken by the natural disaster. As Business Insider observes, "it's under water."

Christie later gave an emotional account of what he saw surveying the damage of Hurricane Sandy during a press conference.
"We will rebuild it," he said. "But for those of us who are my age, it won't be the same."
