When being a 'slut' pays off

When being a 'slut' pays off

I was amused by the news of TIME's "Person of the Year" roster Eddie posted here yesterday. The list includes entertainers, sports stars, politicians, entrepreneurs and... Sandra Fluke.

"Birth control is, like, so totally expensive you guys!"

What professional category would Ms. Fluke fit into?

We all know her as that girl who claimed she and her liberal sisters in arms either enjoy unprotected sex or spend an ungodly amount of money on birth control. Liberals know her as the girl Rush Limbaugh called a "slut." So, remind me again exactly what her contribution to society was this year...?

What inspired TIME to nominate her to be their "Person of the Year"? Well, as much as they would never admit to it, it looks like TIME apparently relied on Rush Limbaugh.

Let's face it -- no one would even know Sandra Fluke's name if the prominent conservative talk radio host hadn't publicly insulted her on the air. Ironically, this "champion" for women owes her success to... a man. After Limbaugh's remarks, an irrelevant Georgetown Law student suddenly became the poster child for Democrats' fictional Republican "War on Women" and President Obama's contraception mandate.

I wonder if Fluke will thank Rush for this "honor."
