Richard Mourdock, former Republican U.S. Senate candidate out of Indiana, lost his election. The reason, according to an email from his campaign: The "liberal media."
"After a bitter, hard-fought campaign, many Republicans all over the country were forced to accept defeat rather than celebrate victory," the email, sent out by Mourdock's Finance Director Ashlee Walls to supporters said. "In our case, we found our campaign caught in the liberal media crosshairs. Never has Indiana seen a more obvious example of media bias by reporters more interested in defeating conservatives than reporting the news."
By "the news," Walls is not referring to comments Mourdock made during a televised debate; comments wherein he said pregnancy as a result of rape was "something God intended to happen." Because that's definitely not "the news."
The Hill was the first to report on the email.
