It Just Bounced Right Off': Man Recalls Moment a Stray Bullet Grazed His Head While Watching TV

A Massachusetts man was sitting on the couch watching television when he was shot in the head with a stray bullet.

At the home of his fiancee's father at the time, Seth Bouldry said the bullet only grazed his skull after coming in through the ceiling.

“I was just sitting, watching TV, and I just heard a loud pop. I didn’t know what was going on,” Bouldry recalled for WBZ-TV, still a little dazed.  “I didn’t feel anything – I just got up and I started walking. I put my hand on my head, and I felt blood.”

In perhaps the most memorable quote of the story, Bouldry said it seemed as though the bullet "bounced right off" his head.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter, but did not immediately make any arrests.  They did, however, say that the bullet's progress was likely slowed after passing through the ceiling, and that it was fired from a .357 caliber gun.

According to the Associated Press, Bouldry said there had been an argument in the unit above him before the gun was fired.

But Bouldry is simply happy to count his blessings.

“I’m the luckiest person to be alive right now,” he remarked.
