Report: Lance Armstrong Plans to Admit Doping to Oprah

Disgraced cycling star Lance Armstrong plans to admit to doping throughout his storied career in an interview with Oprah Winfrey next week, USA Today reported early Saturday.

The interview will be taped in Armstrong's Austin, Texas home and air Thursday on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Citing an anonymous source, the newspaper reported Armstrong will admit to using performance-enhancing drugs but probably won't talk about specific incidents.

The 41-year-old cyclist has vigorously denied doping charges for years, but saw his athletic career collapse in October after a major report from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency detailed allegations of drug use. He was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and received a lifetime ban from cycling.

The New York Times first reported last week Armstrong was considering coming clean about the alleged doping.

Winfrey announced earlier this week Armstrong would sit for a "no holds barred" interview, his first addressing the scandal.

Armstrong's attorney did not immediately return a USA Today request for comment.
