VA Pizza Shop Offers 15% Discount to Anyone Who Brings in a Gun or Concealed Carry Permit

"It's been awesome."

A Virginia Beach pizza shop owner is showing his support for firearm rights by giving gun owners a 15 percent discount -- an action that will surely catch the ire of firearms control advocates.

Jay Laze is giving the discount to anyone who brings a gun or concealed handgun permit to All Around Pizzas and Deli. While he says the deal was initially planned for a limited time, the response has been so positive that he's considering making it permanent.

Since the coupon launched last Friday (it's available on the pizza shop's web site), Laze says 80 percent of his customers have brought guns into the pizza shop. One customer even came in with an AK-47.

"It's been awesome," he told The Virginian Pilot, noting the widespread support the discount has spawned.

Laze is a gun owner and says he's always been a supporter of the right to carry firearms. But in 2007, he was robbed outside of the pizza shop. After that incident, he purchased a gun for protection.

His support for guns carries throughout his business' operations, as Laze also claims that his employees are gun owners, too.

"I actually hire delivery drivers that do carry openly," he adds.
