Shocking video broadcast on Chinese CCTV state television reportedly shows an intoxicated man climbing on electricity cables in the city of Linfen in the Shanxin province, as frantic onlookers try to get him down.
The video opens with the man on the highest rung of cables, climbing like a child on a swing set before attempting to hold on only by his feet. Predictably, he falls, but is caught by a lower rung of wires.

Authorities turned off the power when alerted to the incident, and the man's refusal to come down apparently gave them time to set up a safety net down below.
After about fifteen minutes, according to the U.K. Daily Telegraph, the man fell, but miraculously was unhurt.
He did, however, have extremely high levels of alcohol in his blood, and was confused as to why he chose to climb up the poles in the first place.
