President Obama's Brilliant Idea to Discourage His Daughters From Getting Tattoos

Deterrents.

It’s an issue many parents face: a teenage son or daughter who wants to get inked.

And while many parents will say “no” and move on, and some will even threaten severe repercussions, some will say “okay." Consider President Obama in the latter camp -- but with a major caveat.

Instead of a flat-out "yes" or "no," President Obama has a pretty great solution: “What we’ve said to the girls is, ‘If you guys ever decided you’re going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo in the same place. And we’ll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo.”

“And our thinking is that might dissuade them from thinking that somehow that’s a good way to rebel,” he said during an interview on the “Today”:

Seriously, nothing will take the edge off a "rebellious" butterfly tattoo like having your dad tell the whole world that he has the exact same one -- on the small of his back.
