Ann Coulter Says 'Zero Immigrants Should Be Collecting Government Assistance

"Can’t we all agree you're not the kind of immigrant we need in America...?"

Ann Coulter gave a characteristically fiery interview to Sean Hannity Tuesday night, arguing that we shouldn't be accepting immigrants into the United States who need government assistance.

The discussion was rooted in the news that the Tsarnaev family received roughly $100,000 in benefits and subsidies between 2000 and 2012.

"Because our immigration policy does not discriminate in favor of people who are educated, who speak English, who have skills we need, we are bringing in push-cart operators or these guys up in Boston who had no visible skills...How is this an addition to America?" she asked.

Coulter continued:

You have recent immigrants -- 85% are from the third world, [and] more than 60% of them need government assistance.  Now...the amnesty advocates like Rubio will say, ‘Oh, but it’s only 30 percent more than the native born Americans.’  My point is -- zero immigrants should be collecting government assistance.  If you are collecting government assistance it seems to me -- can’t we all agree you're not the kind of immigrant we need in America...?

[...]

We know we have our own native-born losers, murderers, welfare recipients...Fine, we'll deal with them.  Why are we bringing them in?  [Emphasis added]

Coulter also noted that "Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 immigration act was specifically designed to bring in mostly third world immigrants, and to block immigrants from the countries that we’ve traditionally taken immigrants from [that] made up America, i.e. Europe, heavily Europe,” before adding that we shouldn't be so quick to administer refugee status.

After Hannity said Saudi Arabia has had a 500% increase in student visas since September 11, 2011, Coulter said: "Sometimes they are being persecuted for the reason...I think that's how the Blind Sheikh got in, the guy who shot up the Empire State Building...They get in because they're members of the Muslim Brotherhood [and] whatever country doesn't like them -- why are we bringing them in?"

In response to immigrants who have told her they hate America because of "things America is doing around the world," Coulter responded: "Fine! I understand that. My point is, you should not be immigrating here. Stay in your country and hate us!"
