A Florida woman was attacked by a pack of pit bulls while walking Sunday night with her 6-year-old daughter.
Flagler County sheriffs said Brandy Bookamer suffered lacerations and puncture wounds from bite marks when she took on the five dogs to protect her daughter, telling the girl to run home, according to WKMG Click Orlando.
The girl was in no way injured but her 27-year-old mother was taken to the hospital and treated for what the sheriffs said appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
“She may have been fending off the dogs because of her daughter,” Lt. Bob Weber said, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal. “There were puncture wounds and scratches to her extremities.
“She was barely moving," he said.
Animal control came to take possession of the animals.
