Controlled destruction is always fun to watch and this Chinese demolition is no exception.
“The destruction of a 3.5 kilometer viaduct in the Chinese city of Wuhan has set a record for the longest concrete bridge ever demolished in China,” ITN notes.
“With 100,000 volt wires running alongside, 30 major gas pipelines underneath and residential buildings all around it was also one of the most difficult demolitions ever undertaken in China," the report adds:
Considering that the viaduct was built in 1997 as part of the main highway between Shanghai and Tibet, according to Bloomberg, it seems a little early to scrap the whole thing, doesn’t it?
Then again, the Chinese are really, really into infrastructure investments.
