Michelle Obama laments 'really nice prison' lifestyle at the White House

When most of us think about life at the White House, we think about glamorous black tie events, vacations at Camp David and jet-setting around on the world's most exclusive airliner -- Air Force One.

But First Lady Michelle Obama is here to correct such doe-eyed fantasies. According to her, life at the White House is more akin to serving time in a federal prison, albeit a "nice" prison.

When not in solitary confinement, Michelle Obama gets one hour of exercise time on the prison yard with her posse.

Woe is her.

Via the Washington Examiner:

First Lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday described living in the White House as like being in a “really nice prison.”

Obama’s comment came during her discussion with former First Lady Laura Bush at the African First Ladies Summit in Tanzania during an interview moderated by journalist Cokie Roberts. [...]

“There are some prison elements to it,” she joked. “But it’s a really nice prison.”

Yeah... I know I'll never forget that one time when Mrs. Obama narrowly dodged a rusty shank in the White House vegetable garden.

Former first lady Laura Bush reminded the crowd that First Ladies had a chef.

“You can’t complain,” Michelle Obama admitted. “But there is definitely elements that are confining.”
