NBC Issues Correction After Making False Claim About George Zimmerman Jury

NBC's Brian Willaims on Friday night falsely claimed the jury in the George Zimmerman murder trial was made up of "all women and all white." While all the jurors are indeed women, one of the jurors, identified on NBCNews.com as Juror B-29, is labeled as "either black or Hispanic."

Later in the broadcast, the "NBC Nightly News" anchor issued brief correction. Williams explained it's a "jury of six, five of them white."

Just as with the trial itself, some have focused on the race of the jurors. MSNBC's Al Sharpton has touched on the issue and Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump recently asked whether a nearly all white jury can provide "equal justice" under the law, Mediaite's Josh Feldman points out.

Others might argue that the race of the jurors is irrelevant.

On Thursday, MSNBC's Tamron Hall said she regretted an "awful mistake" the network made when it accidentally aired a photo of Trayvon Martin's dead body. HLN also aired the same footage.
