Martin Family Attorney: Trayvon Next to Medgar Evers and Emmett Till as Symbols for Equal Justice for All
July 13, 2013
The attorney for Trayvon Martin's family said the slain teenager will be remembered alongside civil rights figures Medgar Evers and Emmett Till in the wake of George Zimmerman's acquittal.
"Trayvon Martin will forever remain in the annals of history next to Medgar Evers and Emmett Till as symbols for the fight for equal justice for all," Benjamin Crump said Saturday night.
Evers was an NAACP civil rights activist assassinated in Mississippi in 1963. Till was a 14-year-old black boy brutally murdered in 1955 after supposedly flirting with a white woman.
