Beyonce Holds Moment of Silence for Trayvon Martin, Sings 'I Will Always Love You
July 14, 2013
Pop star Beyonce interrupted her concert to hold a moment of silence for Trayvon Martin, then sang the chorus of "I Will Always Love You" after news broke of George Zimmerman's acquittal Saturday night.
"I'd like to have a moment of silence for Trayvon," Beyonce said at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn, according to the Associated Press. Then, with the stage mostly dark, she sang part of the song written by country music star Dolly Parton and made famous by the late Whitney Houston.
