Video: Rand Paul pans foreign aid in speech to VFW

WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 19: U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) talks with reporters as Senate Republicans and Democrats head to their weekly policy luncheon on March 19, 2013 in Washington, DC. The Senate is expected to pass a revised continuing resolution and send their edits back to the House in order to prevent a government shutdown next week, but any action in the Senate may be delayed until later in the week. In remarks at the national VFW National Convention this morning, Sen. Rand Paul reiterated his non-interventionist foreign policy and called on the U.S. government to end foreign aid for "nations that burn our flag."

The U.S. is getting too involved in countries' civil wars around the world, Paul said. Congress should vote on any American support package before it's given to aid groups like Syrian rebels working to overthrown their national government.
