This Is One of the Worst Major League Baseball Throws We've Seen All Season

Remind you of anything?

You know when a celebrity takes the mound before the start of a baseball game to throw out the ceremonial first pitch? And you know when said celebrity completely botches it and throws it into the ground? Well, that's exactly what happened during the Blue Jays-Mariners game last night, except it wasn't a celebrity -- it was major leaguer Raul Ibanez and it was during the middle of the game.

During the top of the 7th inning, the Blue Jays' Edwin Encarnacion knocked a base hit to left field. The Mariners' Ibanez did a good job of cutting the ball off:

After fielding it, he wound up and put all he had into rocketing the ball to second:

The only problem is, he maybe tried a little to hard. He ended up spiking the ball into the ground a few yards from his feet:

Here's the video:

The play ended with a run scoring, and the Blue Jays ended up winning 7-2.

If the play looks familiar, it's probably because it resembles the first pitch thrown by singer Carly Rae Jepsen earlier this year:

While the Blue Jays-Mariners game is maybe a flash in the pan for two very bad teams, it's likely Ibanez's throw will live on for a very long time.
