Florida Cop Caught on Tape Punching Mentally Ill 14-Year-Old in the Face

The teen is reportedly being charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest with violence and criminal mischief.

A Florida police officer was reportedly captured on surveillance camera punching a 14-year-old mentally disabled girl in the face after she took a swing at him. Authorities in Broward County are calling for a full investigation into the incident.

The teen was reportedly involved in a fight with another teen while under detention at Citrus Center for Adolescent Treatment Service, according to reports. Everything appears to be calm when one of the officers reaches out to grab the girl's arm.

Details are still a little sketchy but the girl can be seen on video resisting and then swinging at the officer. The cop responds by punching the girl directly in the face.

The video, via the Daily Mail below, clearly shows the 14-year-old assaulting the officer, so the only question that remains is whether he responded with excessive force. Watch below (Warning: Graphic content)

The teen is reportedly being charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest with violence and criminal mischief.

Broward County public defender Gordon H. Weekes Jr. is also alleging that the Citrus Center’s staffers are injecting the teen detainees with a chemical sedative they refer to as “booty juice.”

“Young girls at this facility are routinely injected with a substance that often renders them unconscious and unable to recall events that transpired during the period of restraint,” Weekes said.

His claims have not been substantiated.
