Man Arrested for Torturing & Beheading Puppies, Police Say

"The spine of the puppy did not appear to cut by a single cut, but instead by several cuts"

Police charged a man in Georgia with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals last weekend for allegedly torturing two puppies and later beheading them.

According to an arrest warrant, Robert Davis, used a pair of scissors to cut off the head of a 6-week-old pit bull puppy and stab another in the throat.

One of the puppy's necks "was completely severed with the head attached to the body by a single piece of skin," according to an arrest warrant for Robert Davis, obtained by the SouthCobbPatch. "The neck was cut in what appeared to be a sawing type motion."

"The spine of the puppy did not appear to cut by a single cut, but instead by several cuts," it added.

The warrant reportedly said the wounds to the other puppy's throat were "large and deep."

The neighbors, who had given the two puppies to Davis to watch for a few days, said they were horrified by what they saw after seeing what had happened to their dogs.

"I saw that I dropped what I was doing and just walked away," Tyler Tedesco, the dog's owners, told WSBTV. "I couldn't bear to see that because I raised those dogs."

According to Tedesco, Davis told a friend over the weekend he tortured the animals for fun.

"He told John that he was just messing around," Tedesco said.

Davis is being held at the Cobb County Jail on $250,000 bond and faces up to 13 years in prison. He was also charged with three counts of  tampering with evidence.
