Want to Know What Went Through the Head of the SEAL Who Shot Bin Laden on the 1-Year Anniversary? Congressman Spills the Beans

"Do you remember where you were a year ago when you found out Osama bin Laden was dead?"

Have you ever wondered what goes through the mind of the man who shot Osama bin Laden when he hears it brought up on, say, the radio? Well, GOP Congressman Doug Lamborn knows, and he's letting us in on the little secret.

After being asked about an American POW being held by the Taliban and what he was going to do about it, Lamborn launched into a story about a former SEAL he was visiting with recently.

“Let me tell you a little story,” Lamborn said at a town hall meeting in Colorado Springs last Saturday. “Because I’m on [the] Armed Services [Committee] I get to talk with some of our greatest heroes in this country. And I was visiting recently with the guy who shot and killed Osama bin Laden from Navy Seal Team Six. [Applause] He’s a hero, he’s a hero.”

“He was back stateside, he has two little girls, and they were getting ready to go somewhere and he was listening to the radio," Lamborn continued. "And the guy on the radio -- this was a year afterward -- the guy on the radio said, ‘Do you remember where you were a year ago when you found out Osama bin Laden was dead?’ And he thought to himself ‘yeah I was in his bedroom staring down at his corpse.’ That's a hero. That's a hero.”

The crowd chuckled and clapped, and Lamborn moved on to the next question:

So if that was always a burning question, now you have the answer.
