DNC chair reacts to Alan Grayson's burning cross by criticizing 'both sides
October 23, 2013
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said Wednesday that she's "disappointed" by fellow Democrat Alan Grayson's fundraising email this week which used a burning cross to spell out "Tea Party," but stopped short of calling on Grayson to apologize or stop using the imagery. Instead, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee insisted that "both sides need to dial back that kind of rhetoric and look to bring more civility into politics."
Wasserman Schultz's statement came today after former Congressman Alan West criticized both her and President Obama for failing to speak out against the racial rhetoric.
