Wild Video Shows Riders Subdue Violent Subway Passenger Who Had Embarked On Hate-Filled Tirade
December 07, 2013
"We were all slaves, his slaves."
A Thursday incident involving a man ranting on the New York City subway reportedly left one injured and several in police custody.
According to WLNY-TV, five were taken into police custody after passengers subdued a man who had gone on a hate-filled tirade and assaulted passengers.
Video of the incident shows an unidentified man yelling at random individuals.
"He started screaming, saying everyone should die," passenger Jessica Valencia told WNBC. "We were all slaves, his slaves."
"He was just really ... like crazy," she added. "He was pushing people. I mean, he almost pushed some people into the platform."
Valenica's video shows the unidentified man strike a woman in the face after she challenged his provocative rant.
After the emergency brake was activated, the conductor escorted passengers into a separate car leaving the man isolated until the train arrived at the next station.
It was not immediately clear why five individuals were taken into custody by authorities.
