The Complete List of Everything Michael Bloomberg Banned as Mayor of NYC
December 31, 2013
Large sodas, trans fats, black roofs...
It's been well established that outgoing New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg likes to ban things. The complete list of all the things he has banned, as compiled by Gizmodo, is a good representation of his governing style.
Bloomberg officially leaves office on Wednesday after 12 years as mayor of New York. By no stretch of the imagination does that mean New York will see a less heavy-handed city government under far-left progressive Bill de Blasio.
EMBARGOED UNTIL 12:01 AM, WEDNESDAY, JAN. 1, 2014 - FILE - This Aug. 12, 2013 file photo shows New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg speaking in New York. Bloomberg made a $350 million pledge to Johns Hopkins University in 2013. Philanthropy in 2013 made a comeback in large donations with the nation’s wealthiest donors giving more than $3.4 billion to charity, according to a new tally of the top 10 gifts of 2013 by the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
