Valentine's Day is about love and MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry celebrated the occasion Friday by bringing a new member into her family. She had a baby girl by way of a surrogate mother.
Harris-Perry tweeted the news Saturday with a photo of her new baby. The baby is seen in the photo wearing pink clothes, complete with a hat embroidered with "#NERDLAND" across the front.
The hashtag is used by Perry and her fans to promote her weekly show on Twitter.
Harris-Perry also has a 12-year-old daughter.
Correction: This post initially incorrectly stated Harris-Perry expanded her family with a newly adopted baby girl. The baby was actually born by way of a surrogate mother and is biologically Harris-Perry's.
