New Zealand's Prime Minister Actually Refutes Claim That He Is a 'Shapeshifting Reptilian Alien Ushering Humanity Towards Enslavement

"I've taken the unusual step of not only seeing a doctor, but a vet..."

Politicians don't typically deign to respond to wild claims and accusations. But New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key has publicly responded to an Open Information Act request for "any evidence to disprove the theory that Mr John Key is in fact a David Icke style shapeshifting reptilian alien ushering humanity towards enslavement."

"Having been asked that question directly, I've taken the unusual step of not only seeing a doctor, but a vet, and both have confirmed that, no, I'm not a reptile," Key told reporters with a smile.

The prime minister continued: "I'm certainly not an alien. I've never been in a spaceship. I don't have a little green suit. And I've never been to outer space."

He added that his tongue is not "overly long" either.

Key is not the first word leader to be accused of having extraterrestrial connections.

Last March, conspiracy theorists shot wild accusations at a member of President Barack Obama's security detail over a 2012 speech at an American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference.

The agent was described as an alien shape-shifter, an Illuminati member and a reptilian humanoid, depending on the accuser.

The Obama administration responded to that accusation, as well, with a tongue-in-cheek statement to Wired's Danger Room. Alien bodyguards, apparently, would be too costly during a time of budget cuts.

“I can’t confirm the claims made in this video, but any alleged program to guard the president with aliens or robots would likely have to be scaled back or eliminated in the sequester,” National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said. “I’d refer you to the Secret Service or Area 51 for more details.”
