A hunter claims he successfully bagged a 500-pound wild hog in the woods of Eastern North Carolina, WNCT-TV reports. Seeing the hog’s size compared to the hunter’s is something incredible to see.
Jett Webb told the news station that the experience was both “surreal” and “humbling.”
"It was a shock,” he said. “It was very humbling to say the least, when you walk up on a beast that big and you say, 'Oh my gosh. I had no idea that there could be something that big running around the woods of Eastern North Carolina.'"
The monstrous hog was captured on trail cameras and hunters in the area had been trying to find it ever since. Webb, who first saw the animal last month in Bertie County, ended up finding it first. He used a .308-caliber rifle to take down the beast.
Instead of mounting the hog, Webb said he decided to take all the meat. He says there was enough to fill two coolers to the top.
"We're not going to waste anything. So that pig will provide food for me and my family for a good year,” he added.
Though there will undoubtedly be skeptics, Webb “swore” the image was not photoshopped, according to CBS News.
