Absolutely Horrible Alley-Oop Pass Turns Into Accidentally Awesome 'Assist
March 14, 2014
Very unlikely.
In what likely should have been a turnover, Creighton University’s Devin Brooks ended up accidentally making an off-the-backboard assist for three points after he badly botched an alley-oop pass. However, he won't actually get credit for the assist.
“It looks like Brooks was trying to throw an alley-oop to a wide-open man in the post,” Business Insider’s Tony Manfred writes. “But the ball slipped out of his hands, hit off the side of the backboard, and took a crazy bounce directly into the hands of Austin Chatman, who drained a three-pointer.”
