The Border Patrol Video Involving a Pocket Constitution That's Too Good to Be True
April 02, 2014
"Are you detaining me?"
A new video posted online Monday by ReasonTV as an April Fools' Day joke tells viewers, "You won't believe this border patrol checkpoint refusal video."
"And you shouldn't," it adds.
The staged video shows an individual assert his constitutional rights at a border patrol stop when things take a sudden bizarre turn.
"Are you detaining me?" the individual questions.
"You are one of those guys," the border patrol agent says. "That's great. More citizens should know their rights."
The border patrol agent then does something even more unexpected — he advises the individual of his legal rights and lists all the things he as an officer is prohibited by law from doing at the checkpoint.
