Makendy Francois is accused of stealing $5,000 from one Speedway on Sunday in only 60 seconds and an additional $1,500 from another location last month in about 18 seconds, making his grand total $6,500 in 78 seconds.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the 19-year-old, a former employee of Speedway, was charged with felony theft in South Euclid Municipal Court and Lyndhurst Municipal Court. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that Francois did not act alone, because in both incidents surveillance footage captured other people with him.

Police say Francois didn't steal cash but uploaded money onto prepay debit cards sold at the gas stations, allegedly doing so when employees were in the restroom. The police reports also note current employees said a person would need to know how to load money onto the cards to complete the transactions.
