Actor Tim Allen turned to Twitter Friday to ask one question: "How does taxing high income people help the middle class succeed?"

Days earlier, the actor known for his role on TV-sitcom "Home Improvement," as well as his role in a host of other movies, declared California to be a "kind of socialist state."

Nevertheless, Allen denied the tweet was a way of saying "liberals/progressives are wrong" and contended it was "just an open question."
