F*** Her': Woman Pelted With a Frigid Surprise While Holding an Anti-Gay Mother's Day Sign

"Truth is hate to those that hate the truth, and this is the truth."

A Michigan woman was in for a frigid surprise when she decided to commemorate Mother's Day by standing at an intersection holding an anti-gay sign. An angry passerby, who presumably disagreed with the placard, responded by pelting her with a slushie, sparking a heated back and forth.

The clash began after author Christine Weick took to a street in Grandville, Michigan, holding a large white sign that read, "Thank your mom today for not being gay" as cars whizzed by.

A local NBC affiliate appeared at the scene to cover Weick's activism, but what WOOD-TV ended up capturing on camera was far more interesting.

A woman identified as Jessica Prince can be seen on film throwing a red slushie at Weick, who responded by threatening to pepper spray the assailant. Prince purportedly hit back with "profanity and rude gestures," WOOD-TV reported.

"Take a step towards me, you’re gonna get it," Weick told Prince.

Watch the incident unfold below:

Before leaving the scene, Prince asked WOOD to "leave the slushie part out" of the footage, noting that she doesn't "want to go to jail." Weick apparently told police that she wants to press charges, but it is unclear what that will actually happen.

Regardless, she's standing by her message.

"Truth is hate to those that hate the truth, and this is the truth," she said. "They don’t like it and they label me a hater, and it isn’t that at all. I love them enough to tell them they are on the wrong path."

Others took a more peaceful approach in responding to the message. One man named Zach Hoag carried an oppositional sign that read, "But two moms can be fabulous!"

Another person's sign, which read, "F*** her," was a bit harsher in tone.

Weick detailed the incident on her Facebook page, where she also said she plans to make a sign and stand near the satanic monument that could be installed outside the Oklahoma state Capitol. The born-again Christian has a history of protesting against same-sex marriage, among other issues.
