An unidentified thug beat a 68-year-old man to death in Alphabet City, Manhattan, on Friday night in what may have been an attempted robbery, police said.
After being listed in critical condition, the man died on Saturday from his injuries.

The horrific attack was captured on video by a surveillance camera in the area. The killer, identified only as a black male, can be seen approaching Ruan Wen Hui, 68, and yelling at him. The thug is then seen throwing Hui against a wall before punching and stomping him while he was on the ground.
The attacker then walks away calmly.

Though police have speculated robbery may have been a motive, it’s still unclear at this point. Authorities are asking anyone with information on the murder to call NYPD’s CrimeStoppers tipline at (800) 577-TIPS.
