Paramedic Responding to Car Crash Met by Surprise at the Scene

“Interestingly enough."

A Utah paramedic was stunned when he responded to the scene of a crash Friday morning.

A pickup truck that had rolled on top of another vehicle in West Valley City, a suburb of Salt Lake City, was towing a stolen trailer owned by paramedic Alex House, according to KSTU-TV.

“Interestingly enough, one of the responding paramedics gets here and says ‘Hey, that’s my trailer that was stolen that’s hitched to the back of the truck he was driving,'” Salt Lake City Police Department Sgt. Jeff Webb told the news station.

House didn't realize his trailer had even been stolen from the area where he stored it until he saw it on the scene.

The crash was caused when the pickup driver -- who in addition to the stolen trailer was found to have in his possession a firearm, drugs and stolen credit cards -- failed to slow down for a red light. The pickup was later found to be stolen as well.

KSTU reported that no serious injuries resulted in the crash that involved multiple cars.
