Don't miss the latest episode of riveting mini-series 'Alise vs. the Mayor

Directed and produced by TheBlaze’s Will Cain, "Alise vs. the Mayor" is a riveting mini-series revealing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio's attempts to close some of the top-performing schools in his city. It also shows how parents and students fought back.

One of the most unique aspects of the series is that it takes you through the events as they occur, rather than interviewing the affected parties after the matter comes to a conclusion.

In episode three of "Alise vs. the Mayor," the viewer is with 10-year-old Alise Alexander and over 10,000 others as they rally in front of the capitol in Albany in an effort to keep charter schools open. Though the temperature is in the single digits and it took them three hours to get there, the thousands of parents, students, and educators are undeterred in their conviction.

One of the biggest surprises was when New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo appeared and openly voiced his support for their cause, since it was in direct opposition to de Blasio's wishes.

Alise, who was attending the prestigious Success Academy in Harlem before de Blasio tried to shut it down, said she started "jumping up and down" when she saw Gov. Cuomo, knowing it signified a turn in their fortune.
