Jon Stewart Likens the NRA To...

Comedy Central's Jon Stewart apparently sees a parallel between the political clout of Japan's defenders of animated child rape and the National Rifle Association. Stewart made the connection Thursday night following a segment on "The Daily Show" about the recent vote by Japan's upper house of parliament to finally ban the possession of child pornography.

As the segment noted, however, Japan's new law isn't absolute: graphic images depicted in anime, comic books and similar so-called artistic representations will still be legal to own, due to the powerful lobby behind the multibillion-dollar industry.

As Stewart wondered, "how can a lobby for a destructive industry take precedence over the protection of children?" the NRA's logo was projected behind him to audience cheers.
