‘We Must Prepare for Everything’: Hagel Says Islamic State Terror Group ‘Is Beyond Anything We Have Seen’

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel warned on Thursday that the Islamic State is a “sophisticated” terrorist group “beyond anything we have seen.”

“ISIL is as sophisticated and well-funded as nay group we have seen,” Hagel said at a Defense Department briefing. “They are beyond just a terrorist group.”

Saying "we must prepare for everything," the Defense Secretary outlined why the terror group is so dangerous.

“They marry ideology, a sophistication of strategic and tactical military prowess, they are tremendously well funded. This is beyond anything we have seen,” he said.
