October 13, 2014
"We need an ambulance."
A zoo outing turned into a nightmare Friday when a 3-year-old boy fell more than 15 feet through an exhibit railing and landed in the jaguar pit at the Little Rock Zoo in Arkansas.
"We have a child who has fallen into the jaguar exhibit…we need an ambulance," a caller told the 911 emergency dispatcher.

"So he is in there with the — " the dispatcher said.
"Yes, it is not good," the caller said.
One of the jaguars took the child's shirt into its mouth and another fastened onto the boy's foot, ABC News reported.
The boy's father and grandfather threw objects into the pit to try and distract the jaguars before zookeepers used fire extinguishers to keep the animals back. The boy was carried up a ladder, bleeding from the head.
Officials rushed the boy to Arkansas Children's Hospital where he was listed in critical condition before being upgraded to stable on Saturday, ABC reported. The jaguar exhibit is temporarily closed, according to KATV-TV.
